Don’t these cute little apps remind you of a “Cherry Bomb” firecracker? They carry the same kick too! These are always a hit among guests but warning them that a peppadew can be sweet and spicy is a must. Fear not – the goat and cream cheese filling cools it all down. And the chive topping? Well, that’s what makes it “da bomb” appetizer.
1 jar of Mild Sweet Piquante Peppers (peppadews)
8 ounces of soft goat cheese, softened
4 ounces of cream cheese, softened
chives, cut into 1 inch pieces
Combine softened goat cheese and cream cheese in a bowl. Transfer mixture to a large gallon plastic bag.
Drain peppadews. We then cut off a sliver of the bottom of each peppadew in order for them to sit up on the serving plate.
Cut the bottom tip of the plastic bag containing your mixture with scissors. Pipe the cheese filling into the top opening of the peppadew.
Top each Cherry Bomb with a 1 inch piece of chive. Serve at room temperature.
